Buzzwoorden bestempelen we vaak als negatief omdat iedereen er maar wat over roept. Snap ik. Maar het is natuurlijk niet voor niets dat deze woorden zo veelbesproken zijn. Er valt namelijk echt wat interessants over te zeggen! Daarom schreef ik eerder al een blog over marketing en kunstmatige intelligentie. In dit blog ga ik wat dieper in op data gedreven marketing. Want wat kun jij daar als B2B marketeer nou eigenlijk mee? ## Wat is data gedreven marketing? Ik gok dat je hier waarschijnlijk al wel een beeld over hebt. Bij data gedreven marketing verzamel en interpreteer je gegevens van je doelgroep om daarmee je marketingactiviteiten beter te ontwikkelen en aan te passen op de behoeften van je ideale klant. Het verzamelen van deze data gebeurt veelalonline. Zo kijk je bijvoorbeeld naar het gedrag van ontvangers na het lezen van een [e-mail](https://www.brightdigital.com/e-mailmarketing). Openen ze deze überhaupt? Waar klikken ze op? Door dit gedrag te analyseren krijg jij een beter beeld van de behoeften van jouw ideale klant.    Tip: bepaal eerst wat je precies wilt weten voordat je begint met data verzamelen. Bedenk welke data je nodig hebt om dit te bereiken. Op die manier voorkom je dat je niet weet waar je moet beginnen met analyseren. Verleg de focus van big data naar [smart data](https://graydon.nl/nl/resources/blog/data-driven-marketing/video-van-big-data-naar-smart-data-de-b2b). ## Met data gedreven marketing van onderbuikgevoel naar feiten Nog bijna de helft van organisaties maakt beslissingen op het gebied van marketing op basis van onderbuikgevoel, zo blijkt [uit onderzoek](https://ddma.nl/actueel/ddma-data-driven-marketing-onderzoek-2017-organisaties-brengen-datahuis-op-orde/). Best verbazingwekkend, toch? Dat betekent dat in bijna de helft van alle bedrijven één of meerdere marketeers samen beslissen hoe marketingactiviteiten eruit moeten zien, zonder te kijken naar de feiten. Terwijl feiten het onderbuikgevoel juist zo goed kunnen ondersteunen of voor nieuwe inzichten kunnen zorgen. Door te kijken naar échte data, verzameld bij échte mensen, kun je meer succes uit marketingactiviteiten halen. Als je immers weet wat vooral niét werkt, dan hoef je het in de toekomst niet meer te doen. En als activiteiten uit het verleden pure succesformules zijn, dan herhaal je ze natuurlijk gewoon weer. Ik kan me voorstellen dat je als marketeer misschien toch wel denkt: ### “En dat onderbuikgevoel dan?” Want je compleet blindstaren op data, dat is misschien wel een erg grote stap. Dat hoeft ook helemaal niet. We roepen niet voor niets al een tijd dat B2B marketing eigenlijk [H2H marketing](https://blog.hubspot.com/insiders/inbound-marketing-is-h2h) is: human to human. De kunst zit ‘m in het goed inzetten van de data die je verzamelt. Uiteindelijk moeten je doelen gebaseerd zijn op de websitebezoeker: hoe zorg je dat zijn bezoek op je website aangenamer wordt? Slecht presterende websitepagina’s pas je dus aan op basis van de analytics (wat heeft die pagina niet wat een goed presterende pagina wel heeft?) en natuurlijk je gezonde verstand. Tip: zet data gedreven marketing in om de user experience te verbeteren, maar vergeet daarbij het menselijke aspect niet. Het is echt geen verkeerd idee om feedback te vragen van bezoekers.Dat kan natuurlijk online, maar ook via bijvoorbeeld een [focusgroep](https://www.digitalcurrent.com/digital-marketing/focus-groups-in-digital-age/) met je ideale klant. ## Zo zet je data gedreven marketing in Data gedreven marketing klinkt, al helemaal in combinatie met dat menselijke aspect, ideaal. Je kunt immers marketing naar een hoger plan tillen en dat nog onderbouwen met feiten ook! Toch kan ik me voorstellen dat je misschien nog niet helemaal weet op welke gebieden je nou precies data driven kan gaan werken. Denk aan de volgende dingen: - Conversie-optimalisatie. Door bijvoorbeeld te kijken naar het gedrag op conversiepagina’s kun je ontdekken waar verbeterpunten liggen. Hierdoor kun je conversie uiteindelijk verhogen. - Vergroten klantkennis. Data over je klanten analyseren en interpreteren zorgt dat je weer meer kennis krijgt over de ideale klant. Vooral als meerdere klanten hetzelfde gedrag vertonen. Daardoor kun jij in de toekomst betere campagnes ontwikkelen. - Voorspellen klantgedrag. Op basis van gedrag wat klanten eerder vertoonden op je website, kan software met behulp van machine learning inzichten geven in verwacht gedrag. Hier kun jij je marketing weer op aanpassen. Wist je bijvoorbeeld dat bezoekers na het downloaden van een whitepaper bijna altijd een case willen lezen? Dan kun je ze dit direct aanbieden.  ## De mogelijkheden van marketingdata zijn eindeloos Uiteindelijk helpt data gedreven marketing je om betere inzichten te verkrijgen, te focussen op jouw ideale klant en daarmee betere resultaten te behalen..
