**Een goede leadgeneratie staat of valt bij een goed overwogen keuze voor de te benaderen doelgroepen. Doelgroepselectie dus. Want hoe beter het aanbod en de aanpak passen bij de behoeften en verwachtingen van de doelgroep, des te groter zal het resultaat zijn. Maar hoe kun je de doelgroep bepalen?**

Je wilt een gedetailleerd inzicht in bv. de behoeften, interessegebieden en het gedrag van de individuen in de doelgroep ([buying persona’s](https://www.brightdigital.com/nl/kenniscentrum/buyer-persona)), zodat je de juiste content kunt maken en waarde kunt bieden aan de doelgroep.

 

## Waarom doelgroep bepalen?

Hoe beter jouw kennis van de doelgroep, des te beter kun je aansluiten op het moment en de inhoud van hun vraag. En de stappen die je richting de individuen in de doelgroep doet, zijn dan precies op het gewenste moment in de gewenste vorm binnen de customer journey.

Op die manier voeg je waarde toe aan de potentiële klant. Met als resultaat een gerichte en succesvolle leadgeneratie campagne.

 

## Hoe bepaal je de doelgroep?

Een goed begin is het analyseren van de bestaande klanten en klantgroepen, Daarnaast is een andere waardevolle informatiestroom om naar de bezoekers van jouw website te kijken, op het moment dat je een [IP marketing](https://www.brightdigital.com/nl/blog/ip-marketing) tool gebruikt.

Doelgroepselectie is het begin, maar op het moment dat de contacten worden gelegd, moeten er opnieuw keuzes worden gemaakt. Keuzes die betrekking hebben op het kwalificeren van de leads. Welke leads worden op welke wijze opgevolgd. Of niet worden opgevolgd.

 

## Leadkwalificatie

Niet elke lead is even ver in zijn koopproces. En niet elke lead heeft de potentie om een grote klant te worden. En niet elke vraag van de lead past even goed bij de dienst of product die je biedt.

Uiteraard wilt je de grootste investering doen bij de leads die het meeste lijken op te leveren. Het is ook hier gewoon een afweging van investering in tijd en geld ten opzicht van de te verwachten opbrengst (in geld, tijd of kwaliteit).

 

## Leadkwalificatie: criteria

Een belangrijk onderdeel van leadkwalificatie is het gedrag van de lead en de informatie die je over de lead krijgt. Iemand die jouw website bezoekt en een adviesgesprek aanvraagt is waarschijnlijk al verder in zijn koop- en denkproces dan iemand die de website bezoekt en ook weer verlaat.

En een lead die heeft aangegeven binnen 3 maanden een besluit te nemen en daar ook budget voor gereserveerd te hebben, heeft een betere potentie om op korte termijn klant te worden dan iemand die in de denkfase is en verwacht dat er volgend jaar een volgende stap gemaakt wordt.

Het is verstandig om de keuzes die je maakt ten aanzien van doelgroep en kwalificatie vanuit een helikopterview te doen. Het opstellen van een marketing strategie is daar een goede methode voor.
