Om hoog in de zoekmachine te ranken, heb je van te voren zoekwoorden onderzoek uitgevoerd. De vervolgstap is verdere zoekmachine optimalisatie. Daarbij ga je opzoek naar relevante interne links, zodat Google de structuur van jouw website begrijpt. Ook voeg je externe links toe, die jouw website meer waarde meegeven. Maar hoe voeg je deze links toe? Daar komt de ankertekst bij kijken. In dit blog leer je wat de ankertekst is en hoe je deze inzet voor de kwaliteit en ranking van jouw content. Ze vormen een belangrijk onderdeel van jouw online marketing strategie. ## Wat is een ankertekst? De ankertekst is de tekst waaraan je de hyperlink koppelt. Ankerteksten bestaan uit het zoekwoord waarvoor de achterliggende URL geoptimaliseerd is. De tekst bestaat uit een interne of externe link. Met andere woorden: de anchor text is het zichtbare gedeelte van een hyperlink. Hyperlinks zijn belangrijk om in jouw content te verwerken. Ze koppelen pagina’s op jouw website. Door op de hyperlink te klikken wordt de bezoeker doorverwezen naar een andere pagina. Wanneer je gebruik maakt van een ankertekst, vertelt de link aan Google waar de gelinkte pagina over gaat. Ook geeft dit relevantie mee aan de websitebezoeker. Elke link geeft waarde, ook wel link juice genoemd, aan de achterliggende pagina.   ## Een goede ankertekst kiezen Je vraag je vast af: hoe schrijf ik een krachtige ankertekst? Bij het opstellen van een goede ankertekst zijn er drie eenvoudige aandachtspunten. Ze moeten daarnaast een goede verdeling hebben in de woorden die je gebruikt. ### Hou het kort Zorg voor korte maar duidelijke ankerteksten. Dit zorgt ervoor dat de tekst beter leesbaar is en de hyperlink een betrouwbare uitstraling heeft. Anders zien lezers het onderscheid tussen de diverse hyperlinks niet meer.   ### Duidelijke vormgeving Zorg dat je ankertekst duidelijk herkenbaar is als een link, anders zien je lezers niet dat je tekst aanklikbaar is. Een standaard hyperlink is onderstreept en heeft blauw als letterkleur. Als de ankertekst niet duidelijk herkenbaar is, loop je meer pageviews mis. Zoals je op deze pagina ziet, kun je de hyperlinks ook opmaken in jouw eigen huisstijl. Zorg er wel voor dat ze nog steeds goed zichtbaar zijn als links. ### Informatieve tekst Wellicht ben je het zelf ook al tegengekomen op websites: links die standaard teksten bevatten. Deze ankerteksten zijn niet aan te raden. Lezers willen graag weten waar de link naartoe leidt, voordat ze er op klikken.  Gebruik daarom informatieve teksten dat meteen duidelijk maakt waar de lezer naartoe gaat.
