In iedere fase is de (potentiële) klant op zoek naar andere informatie. Als marketeer kun je hierop inspelen door er voor te zorgen dat je de (potentiële) klant in iedere fase op het juiste moment van de juiste informatie voorziet. ** ## Wat zijn de fasen binnen de customer journey? De customer journey bestaat uit drie verschillende fases. Deze fases omvatten de gehele koopreis van je klant. Lees hieronder meer over de drie verschillende fases.  ### Fase 1: De oriëntatiefase De eerste fase van de customer journey is de oriëntatiefase. De oriëntatiefase is de fase waarin de (potentiële) koper beseft dat hij of zij een probleem of uitdaging heeft. Een voorbeeld: Kees loopt op een regenachtige dag door de stad. Op het moment dat hij door een plas water loopt merkt hij dat hij natte voeten krijgt. Op het moment dat Kees merkt dat hij natte voeten krijgt start voor hem de oriëntatiefase. In deze fase zullen er verschillende vragen bij Kees opkomen zoals: - Hoe erg is het dat Kees natte voeten krijgt? - Wat is de reden dat Kees natte voeten krijgt? - Moet het probleem direct worden opgelost of kan het nog wel even wachten? ### Fase 2: De overwegingsfase In de tweede fase van de customer journey definieert de koper zijn probleem of uitdaging en onderzoekt hij mogelijke oplossingen. In het voorbeeld van Kees is dit het moment waarop hij heeft ontdekt dat de natte voeten ontstaan door een gat in zijn schoenzool en dat hij dit direct opgelost wil hebben omdat de herfst is begonnen. Kees gaat daarom op zoek naar mogelijke oplossingen om natte voeten te voorkomen. Het kopen van nieuwe schoenen is een oplossing maar Kees kan er ook voor kiezen om zijn schoenen te laten repareren door een schoenmaker of om zelf zijn schoenen te repareren. In de overwegingsfase gaat een koper op zoek naar alle mogelijke oplossingen voor zijn probleem of uitdaging en weegt hij af wat voor hem de beste oplossing is. Iedere persoon doet dit op zijn eigen manier met zijn eigen wensen en eisen in het achterhoofd. Zo gaat Kees misschien op zoek naar goedkope oplossingen omdat hij krap bij kas zit of gaat hij op zoek naar snelle oplossingen omdat hij weinig tijd heeft. In deze fase kan Kees er bijvoorbeeld voor kiezen om artikelen op het internet te lezen, tutorials te bekijken of een whitepaper te downloaden over het specifieke probleem. ### Fase 3: De beslissingsfase In de derde fase van de customer journey, de beslissingsfase, kiest de koper voor een bepaalde oplossing en gaat hij of zij over tot aankoop. In deze fase heeft hij of zij vaak al besloten welk soort oplossing dat hij of zij gaat kiezen. Kees heeft ervoor gekozen om nieuwe schoenen te kopen. Nu hij toch nieuwe schoenen gaat kopen wil hij ook meteen schoenen kopen die perfect passen. In de beslissingsfase gaat Kees daarom op zoek naar de winkel die hem hierin het beste kan adviseren. In deze fase is Kees op zoek naar bevestiging over of dat de winkel die hij kiest ook de juiste winkel is. Een video over het aanmeten van schoenen en productspecificaties van schoenen kunnen hem hierbij helpen. ## Voorbeeld van de fasen van de customer journey voor een dienst Na het lezen van dit artikel kom je misschien wel tot het besef dat je eigenlijk te weinig weet van de customer journey van jouw (potentiële) klanten. Je bevindt jezelf nu in de oriëntatiefase. Dit komt wellicht doordat er nog nooit goed onderzoek is uitgevoerd naar de customer journey van jouw (potentiële) klanten. Je gaat daarom op zoek naar mogelijkheden om de customer journey in kaart te brengen. Na het lezen van een whitepaper en het bekijken van een video kom je erachter dat je dit zelf kunt doen aan de hand van customer journey modellen, je een opleiding of cursus kunt gaan volgen of dat je een expert in de arm kunt nemen. De overwegingsfase dus! Na alle opties in kaart te hebben gebracht ben je eruit,  je gaat een expert in de arm nemen om de customer journey van jouw (potentiële) klanten in kaart te brengen. In de beslissingsfase ga je op zoek naar de expert die jou hierbij het beste kan helpen. Het verloop van de customer journey is voor ieder bedrijf, product/dienst en doelgroep uniek. Je kunt de customer journey daarom niet zomaar kopiëren van een ander bedrijf.
