B2B [leadgeneratie](https://www.brightdigital.com/nl/kenniscentrum/leadgeneratie) omvat alle activiteiten die gericht zijn om in contact te komen met potentiële klanten, dit kunnen zowel sales- als marketingactiviteiten zijn. Er zijn verschillende manieren om met deze felbegeerde potentiële klanten in contact te komen. Eén ervan is event-marketing. In deze blog leg ik uit hoe dat werkt. ** ### It starts with ‘Why’ Een event organiseren doe je altijd met een doel. Zoals Simon Sinek zou zeggen: ook de de organisatie van een event ‘starts with why’. Zorg dus dat er heldere doelstellingen zijn. Start met het grote doel -  bijvoorbeeld X-aantal nieuwe klanten - en knip dat doel op in kleinere KPI’s zoals aantal bezoekers op je event-website, aantal inschrijvingen, aantal daadwerkelijke event-bezoekers en aantal vervolgafspraken. Als je je doel niet helder hebt, weet je ook niet welke inspanningen je moet verrichten om het te halen. Daarom dus. ### Klaar voor de start Een evenement biedt de uitgelezen kans om live interactie te creëren met je potentiële klant. De meerwaarde van een live ontmoeting is namelijk ongekend! Maar hoe zorg je er nu daadwerkelijk voor dat je potentiële klant jouw evenement bezoekt? Dit kan op veel verschillende manieren. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan: - Het schrijven van relevante blogs; - Het promoten van het event op externe websites (bv. frankwatching of marketingfacts); - Een Google Ads campagne opstellen gericht op relevante zoektermen; - Het onder de aandacht brengen via  Social Media; - Videomarketing (trailer/teaser van het evenement). Tevens is het belangrijk dat je over goede landingspagina’s beschikt waar potentiële klanten zich gemakkelijk kunnen aanmelden voor het evenement. Je wilt niet dat iemand bij een aanmelding afhaakt omdat de website te veel drempels opwerpt.  Zorg bij deze landingspagina dat onderstaande zaken altijd duidelijk gecommuniceerd worden in de marketingboodschap: - Voor wie is het evenement bedoeld? - Wie zijn de sprekers? - Wat zijn de takeaways? - Wanneer vindt het evenement plaats? - Waar is het evenement? - En bovenal: wat is je belofte aan de bezoeker? Je wilt tenslotte wel kwalitatief goede leads op je evenement ontvangen. Tegelijkertijd met de werving, begint in feite ook de planning.  > The most successful event is the one that achieves your goals and exceeds your expectations. ### Topic & planning Kies een onderwerp! Het evenement kan bijvoorbeeld ingezet worden voor de start van een bepaalde campagne. Dit kan bijvoorbeeld een event zijn waarbij kennis wordt gedeeld over jouw expertisegebied (bijvoorbeeld [Inbound Marketing](https://www.brightdigital.com/onze-diensten/inbound-marketing)). Waardoor je potentiële klanten engaged krijgt met jouw product of dienst. Daarbij is een zorgvuldige planning cruciaal. Zorg dat je zelf de touwtjes in de handen houdt en bepaalt wat er gebeurt. Een goede eerste indruk achterlaten, is van levensbelang! ### Beleef het! Bij een event draait het om beleving. De digitale mogelijkheden van deze tijd bieden legio mogelijkheden om een event tot een geweldige (visuele) ervaring te maken. Op deze manier kun je jouw potentiële klant emotioneel prikkelen en kan je laten zien waar jouw bedrijf écht toe in staat is! Dit in combinatie met een sterk, inhoudelijk programma, met goede sprekers, mooie video’s en wellicht relevante relaties zorgen voor een vliegende start van je event. De juiste (verrassende) locatie, goede catering, goed geluid en goede AV zijn daarbij basisingrediënten. ### Live-demo Je potentiële klanten op één locatie samenbrengen, biedt veel mogelijkheden om jouw product live te laten zien of om uitleg te geven over je diensten. Binnen de sales funnel is het “uitproberen/ervaren” van jouw dienst of product een cruciaal element. Dit leidt tot een positieve merkervaring en op den duur ook trouwere klanten.  Bovendien kom je op deze manier ook veel te weten over je doelgroep waardoor je op termijn deze kennis weer kan gebruiken om nieuwe leads te generen. Op deze manier kom je er dus nog beter achter waar jouw ideale klant behoefte aan heeft. ### En nu? Follow-up! Je hebt een fantastisch evenement georganiseerd waarbij iedereen tevreden naar huis is gegaan. Wat nu? Door een goede registratie in je CRM-systeem (bijvoorbeeld HubSpot) heb je altijd overzicht van de leads en klanten die je evenementen hebben bezocht. Vanuit HubSpot kun je jouw evenement-bezoekers weer nurturen. Zodat ze in de toekomst wellicht overgaan tot een aankoop. Ten eerste kan je bijvoorbeeld een bedankt-mail sturen “wat vond je van ons event?” Daarna zou je eventueel nog aanvullende informatie kunnen sturen over het onderwerp en tot slot zou je een adviesgesprek of workshop voor kunnen stellen. Op deze manier kan je de potentiële klant perfect door de (sales)funnel heen leiden waardoor je leads in de toekomst wellicht overgaan tot aankoop.  Dit kan allemaal geautomatiseerd met HubSpot.
