Maar dan! Hoe kun je het tij keren als je geconfronteerd wordt met een crisis? Deze overpeinzing kwam vandaag bij mij boven toen ik aanwezig was bij het [INBOUND22](https://www.inbound.com/) event van HubSpot in Boston.  Sinds 2013 ga ik al jaarlijks naar dit evenement en ieder jaar ben ik weer onder de indruk van de manier waarop ze daar in staat zijn hun publiek mee te nemen in een volgend hoofdstuk van de toch al indrukwekkende geschiedenis.     ##### Een nieuw verhaal De CEO van HubSpot, Yamini Rangan, stond samen met co-founder Dharmesh Shah en de CPO Stephanie Cuthbertson uitgebreid stil bij de vernieuwde positionering van de organisatie. Als thema kozen ze ‘The age of the connected customer’, waarmee ze inspelen op de tegenstellingen die we tegenkomen in het huidige tijdperk.  Aan de ene kant is het nog nooit zo makkelijk geweest om een bedrijf te starten en te laten groeien. Of je nu een start-up, scale-up of mainstream organisatie bent, de technische en digitale mogelijkheden liggen voor het oprapen. Toch is de ervaring voor deze startende en groeiende ondernemers vaak niet direct positief. Ondanks al deze middelen en kansen voelt het bijna onmogelijk om te groeien. *Buyer behavior *verandert bijna dagelijks en een crisis zoals de wereldwijde pandemie maken groei ook al niet makkelijker.      ##### De crisis van ‘disconnectie’ Met die eindeloze wereld aan technologie ontstaan er tegelijkertijd weer nieuwe knelpunten. Zo gebruiken organisaties verschillende back-office en front-office systemen en verzamelen veel data, wat vraagt om meer afstemming en integratie. En daar zit vaak de frictie. Je ziet deze disconnectiecrisis overal om je heen. Disconnected data, systemen, klanten, communities en werknemers. Natuurlijk wordt er dagelijks hard gewerkt om integraties te realiseren tussen softwaresystemen, data op te schonen of te normaliseren en personalisatiemogelijkheden te benutten. Daar is natuurlijk niets mis mee. In de begindagen van CRM-oplossingen werden de systemen ontwikkeld voor het management om bijvoorbeeld de pipeline goed te kunnen managen of de performance van het salesteam in de gaten te houden.  Later wilde men de functie van de werknemers beter gaan ondersteunen. De software werd gebruiksvriendelijker, wat uitnodigde tot intensiever gebruik. Zo werden data accurater en kregen we een steeds beter inzicht in de sales pipeline. Maar is dit voldoende? We leven nu in een tijdperk waarin fundamentele veranderingen in ‘buying behavior’ centraal staan. Hoe kunnen organisaties sneller en beter ‘connecten’ met prospects en klanten? Hoe kun je de relatie tussen jouw organisatie en de klant verbeteren en verdiepen? En hoe kun je sneller en flexibel inspelen op veranderingen in de koopervaring? Kortom: de ‘customer value’ staat centraal! Overtref de verwachtingen van je klant en je zult er de commerciële vruchten van plukken.    ##### Een connected CRM platform Sinds ik met HubSpot werk heb ik vooral in de laatste jaren het platform in een rap tempo van marketing software zien veranderen in een all-in-one CRM-softwareplatform. HubSpot is altijd in staat geweest om de propositie aan te laten sluiten bij de trends, nieuwste ontwikkelingen en de behoefte die leeft bij de doelgroep. Daarom dit jaar geen nieuwe Hubs, maar wel een duidelijke positionering als connected CRM-platform. Zo krijg je alle tools in handen om betekenisvolle relaties op te bouwen met je klanten. In tegenstelling tot veel concurrenten heeft HubSpot altijd de software in-house ontwikkeld en niet gekozen om softwareleveranciers over te nemen en te integreren. Dit stelt HubSpot in staat om het softwareplatform beter uit te bouwen tot een commerce-powered en connected CRM-platform. Stap voor stap worden verbeteringen en uitbreidingen in functies toegevoegd om klanten in staat te stellen commerciële processen en data af te stemmen en ook aan te sluiten op bestaande systemen.  In het blog over de functionele updates kun je meer details vinden over de [nieuwste updates](https://www.brightdigital.com/nl/blog/inbound22-hubspot-product-updates?hs_preview=JwszaEvQ-84065594792). Wat opvalt is dat op dit moment de nadruk ligt op functionaliteiten voor het doorontwikkelen van de RevOps-mogelijkheden. Denk hierbij aan Payment Schedules, Product Sync, Invoice Sync, WhatsApp-integratie en Customer Journey Analytics. Ook Data Management & Quality is een belangrijk thema. Denk hierbij aan de Data Model Overview feature, de Custom Object Builder, een Data Quality Command Center, Automation Recommendations, CRM Customizations en de Cleaner Import features.    ##### Klaar om jouw crisis te lijf te gaan? Je zult je afvragen ‘what's in it for me’? De komende tijd zal ik meer ingaan op de verschillende manieren waarop je *digital growth* kunt realiseren met *connected customers.* Een ding is zeker: voor mij is HubSpot steeds meer het platform waarmee je commerciële processen zo kunt inrichten dat je de verwachtingen van je klanten overtreft. Van de eerste kennismaking als bezoeker van je website tot de terugkerende transacties als klant. Het platform stelt je in staat om een volledige buyer journey te realiseren die past bij je doelgroep.  HubSpot streeft ernaar om met minder tijd, budget en resources jouw commerciële processen en data op elkaar af te stemmen of uit te wisselen met bestaande bedrijfskritische systemen. Het model van HubSpot is eenvoudig. Je kunt starten met een of meerdere Hubs en Hub-versies. Daarmee maakt HubSpot het makkelijk om een transitie geruisloos door te voeren zodat commerciële processen niet verstoord maar juist geoptimaliseerd worden.  Ik begon met de uitspraak ‘Never waste a good crisis’. Die crisis zet de noodzaak tot verandering in beweging. Hoe je de verandering gaat doorvoeren is van groot belang.
