**CRM oftewel Customer Relationship Management heeft zich de afgelopen jaren bewezen als een succesvolle bedrijfsstrategie. Voor marketing en sales is CRM zelfs cruciaal geworden. Maar waarom is CRM zo belangrijk en welke voordelen heeft CRM voor marketing en sales?**

## CRM – méér dan een tool

Veel mensen denken bij CRM direct aan bedrijfssoftware. Customer Relationship Management is echter meer dan een tool. CRM is een bedrijfsstrategie met als doel om de relatie met huidige en potentiële klanten te optimaliseren. Een CRM systeem helpt je hierbij. Met behulp van de data en inzichten die CRM oplevert, kunnen organisaties beter inspelen op de wensen en behoeften van relaties.

## Waarom CRM belangrijk is voor marketing en sales?

CRM is belangrijk voor vrijwel alle afdelingen binnen een organisatie. Toch zijn het vooral marketing en sales die van CRM profiteren. Zo kan CRM marketing en sales onder meer helpen bij het analyseren en optimaliseren van campagnes, het vinden van nieuwe leads en het toepassen van marketing- en sales automation.

Het versturen van de juiste boodschap, op het juiste moment en aan de juiste doelgroep is cruciaal voor succesvolle marketing. CRM maakt het eenvoudig om personalisatie en segmentatie toe te passen in je marketing. Door naast persoonsgegevens ook andere contactinformatie te verzamelen, zoals interesses en contactgeschiedenis (downloads, website bezoeken etc.), kun je je marketing bovendien nog gerichter targeten en automatiseren.

CRM geeft sales afdelingen meer inzicht in leads en in welke fase van de salesfunnel een lead zich bevindt. Is iemand klaar voor het maken van een afspraak of is er eerst nog een andere actie noodzakelijk? CRM helpt daarnaast om marketing- en sales automation toe te passen in je organisatie. Hierbij kun je onder meer denken aan het versturen van automatische e-mails en aan het gebruik van lead scoring.
