In 2014 bestond 64% van al het internetverkeer uit video data en Cisco verwacht dat dit percentage zelfs zal toenemen tot 80% in 2019. Mede door de verbetering van de cameraresolutie van smartphones en de toename van mobiel internet, is het maken van filmpjes en het publiceren daarvan een stuk gemakkelijker geworden. Ook voor jouw bedrijf is het dus mogelijk om video content te creëren. Mocht je nog niet bekend zijn met de voordelen van video content dan help ik je graag even op weg. In dit blog lees je daarom drie redenen waarom jij als ondernemer zou moeten investeren in video content. ** ## YouTube: een populaire zoekmachine YouTube is meer dan alleen een website waarop je jouw video’s kan delen. Waar je dacht dat misschien Yahoo, Baidu of Bing de [grootste zoekmachine is na Google](https://www.mushroomnetworks.com/infographics/youtube---the-2nd-largest-search-engine-infographic/), heb je het fout. YouTube is met drie miljard zoekopdrachten per maand de één na grootste online zoekmachine. Met meer dan een miljard gebruikers is het bereik zo groot dat je niet meer hoeft te twijfelen over het nut ervan. ## Beelden zorgen voor een beleving Door middel van video content kun je potentiële klanten op visuele wijze kennis laten maken met jouw business. Je kunt bijvoorbeeld een [vlog](https://www.brightdigital.com/nl/blog/videocontent-welke-mogelijkheden-zijn-er) maken waarin je jouw kijkers een dagelijkse werkdag binnen je bedrijf laat zien. Ook kun je informatie geven over een nieuw product dat binnenkort wordt uitgebracht of een aankondiging doen voor een bedrijfsevenement. Eén ideaal voorbeeld van goede video content is de serie [‘Will it Blend?’](http://www.willitblend.com/) van het bedrijf Blendtec. In deze serie wordt er elke aflevering een willekeurig product in de blender gegooid om er achter te komen of het daadwerkelijk mengt. Natuurlijk is het ook mogelijk om informatie te delen via jouw blog, whitepaper en e-books. Maar het verschil is dat je met video content meer emotie en beleving kunt overbrengen en daar zijn veel mensen gevoelig voor. Profiteer van beide vormen en laat tekst en video elkaar ondersteunen. ## Lagere drempel Nu ik het toch over de gevoeligheden van de mens heb: Wij mensen willen van nature datgene wat ons het minste moeite kost. Het is verleidelijker om op de afspeelknop te klikken van een filmpje dan om een lap tekst te lezen. Als ondernemer of marketer weet je dat je alle drempels in het koopproces zoveel mogelijk moet verlagen.
