What is HubSpot?

Origin & philosophy

Back in 2004, Brian Halligan (now CEO of HubSpot) noticed that traditional marketing tactics such as cold calling, advertising and buying email lists were becoming less and less effective. That same year, his colleague Dharmesh Shah (now CTO of HubSpot) was working on a blog that was growing dramatically against all odds. This trend got both men thinking. Together they put their heads together and came to an important conclusion:

"The modern customer doesn't want to be bothered with ads, unexpected phone calls and emails from senders he or she doesn't know. But wants to be helped at a time that is convenient for him or her."
